Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Keirsten Quin were born on September 19th, 1980, in Calgary, Alberta. The identical twins’ formative years seemed to be entirely free of musical aspirations; Tegan harbored dreams of eventually becoming a clown or working as a veterinarian, while Sara wanted to be a lawyer when she grew up. Both girls did possess a certain passion for music, however, and that passion manifested as a preternatural ability for songwriting and playing instruments.

The two got their start at the age of 15, when Sara got her hands on her mother’s boyfriend’s guitar. Even though they had taken piano lessons as children, the pair had never taken the idea of pursuing music as a career seriously until they started learning the guitar. Tegan and Sara eschewed formal training in favor of a self-taught approach, and though they cut their teeth on covers, the two quickly began writing their own songs and performing them for friends and family.

Despite his Jackass roots, this goofy but good-looking daredevil is a shrewd talent who earned straight A's in high school and then a scholarship to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. However, the traditional route to showbiz didn't appeal to this Tennessee native, and he soon ditched acting school. A prankster since childhood, Knoxville (who took his stage name from his hometown) pitched an idea for a stunt column to the skating magazine Big Brother. But instead of recording his crazy and disgusting antics in words, he filmed himself and his friends, and the resulting video became a cult hit, leading to his career-making series Jackass in 2000. Since then, Knoxville has continued to be a part of the extreme-reality craze: in 2010, he signed on as an executive producer for Dudesons in America, an MTV series about four Finnish friends who perform insane stunts while journeying through the United States. Off screen, Knoxville is a huge fan of Johnny Cash and owns a cabin that once belonged to the Man in Black.

Taboo is of Mexican-American and Native American (Shoshone) descent. He was born in Boyle Heights, California and raised in California, attending Muscatel Middle School. He has two children. Two days before his 33rd birthday, Taboo married Jaymie Dizon in Pasadena, California on July 12, 2008. will.i.am and apl.de.ap served as groomsmen.
